Chromatic Scale

A scale in music is a specific sequence of notes ordered by pitch, usually ascending or descending, based on a set of rules that define their intervals.

The chromatic scale is a scale because it organizes all 12 notes within an octave in a consistent, step-by-step pattern (half-steps). What makes them a scale—and not just random notes—is this structure and the fact that they are played or thought of in a systematic order.

So by knowing the 12 notes, you already know the chromatic scale.
